Human Resources Generalist

Come join our dynamic Human Resources team as a HR Generalist specializing in Employee Relations, Absence Management, and Benefits.
Reporting directly to the HR Director, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our employees receive the support and resources they need to thrive.
Your expertise will be instrumental in handling employee relations, managing leave of absence programs, administering benefits, and participating in various HR committees.
Essential Functions:
Employee Relations Management:
Offer guidance to management on employee relations policies and legal compliance.
Prepare corrective actions, conduct investigations, and maintain documentation.
Develop strategies to identify and resolve conflicts consistently.
Participate in employee relations corrective action meetings and terminations of employment.
Leave of Absence Management:
Handle leave paperwork and provide managers with updates on return-to-work status.
Manage workers' compensation, FMLA, and LOA claims, including eligibility determination.
Oversee Modified Duty, ADA Accommodations/Interactive Process, and related correspondence.
Benefits Administration:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries.
Provide advice on benefit-related matters and address routine questions.
Coordinate and support 401K administration queries.
Lead annual open enrollment efforts and provide assistance to employees.
Ensure accurate data management and compliance with benefit plan administrators.
Health, Safety & Wellness Management:
Collaborate on OSHA reporting and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Implement and oversee wellness programs.
Co-Chair the Health and Safety Committee to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Other
Responsibilities:
Complete Department of Labor paperwork and attend hearings as required, particularly in Unemployment Claims Management.
Foster professional growth and development.
Interpret insurance agreements, HR regulations, and stay updated on laws and trends.
Manage government filings and audit requirements for compliance.
Recommend process and customer service improvements.

Job Knowledge, Skill Requirements, and Desired Attributes:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS software.
Strong organizational skills to manage priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
Exceptional communication skills to interact professionally with staff, job applicants, government agencies, and external contacts.
Knowledge of government regulations and company policies regarding ERISA and IRS-controlled benefits.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, even under pressure.
Detail-oriented and able to work autonomously.
Maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
Access to confidential payroll and personnel information.
May have access to protected health information (PHI) to perform specific job duties.
Education:
Associate Degree in a related field required.
Bachelor's degree, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of benefits administration experience.
Minimum of three (3) years of HR Generalist experience with a focus on employee relations and absence management.
Salary:
60K-65K DOE
